Wow! When you are on, you are really on! So lovely! Everything--the view, the flowers on the roadside....And as Alain will no doubt say, oh, that slash of turquoise!
Such a small painting to capture mile upon mile of beautiful space.
Just lovely Julian!
I can feel the heat.
I think of you when , I am being a little lazy. So I get up and paint a picture. I have been following you since I saw the NYT story. You , Karin Jurick and Carol Marine, drive me forward. I do have good size art bank of pictures to show and sell. See me on youtube, shoebox paintings. Cheers, Bob Ragland
"Oh,that slash of turquoise"!And that sparkling golden-pheasant-like dash just above,on the left side of the path! And that mysterious citadel in the distance just before an ethereal ocean! And the foliage on the left like a theater curtain half open, and showing that enigmatic emerald green firework within it!And that vertical dash of white into the tree on the right like a crescent moon! And the wonderful transparency of the paste, worthy of Richard Parkes Bonington or James Abott Whistler, that builds the right embankment on which mysteriouly Gustav Klimt himself has come and drawn some wildflowers;and at last with him I am getting lost on my thoughts while flying into the vaporous pinky sky,in which I am sure,a mysterious presence, probably a smiling angel, peacefully thinks of us night and day.
What a lovely painting to view on my birthday. Thanks, Julian. P.S. Maybe Alain should write a commentary book on your paintings. He seems like a visionary, too.
Beautiful feeling to this painting of high summer. Your marks make me feel the heat of the day and the dryness of the land. Lovely!
excellent. t
Beautiful painting Julian, visually makes one want to be walking barefoot down that road, going into the village in the blue distance. Please tell Ruth that I did do a comment on "Cherries" and it is now live on Amazon. Thanks again for today's lovey painting. cheers, geo
Hi Julian This painting with its soft colours.recalls the time I spent in the Bedoin area in the fall last year. Thank you for this painting with its distant views, especially of Crillion le Brave, my favourite place to be in the area.
Hi Julian , you probably tire of hearing this , but I wish I was there with you to paint this. The painting is spectacular , framed beautifully. The distant sky/background so delicate. A masterpiece!! Someday I must!!
