Since 2005, Julian has painted and published a small oil painting almost every day from his home in the south of France. The subjects are simple and immediate: fruit from the market, flowers from the garden, familiar objects and the landscape beyond the studio.

The small still-life paintings in Ina Garten's New York kitchen are by British artist Julian Merrow-Smith. Ina—author of Simply Ina—has collected sixteen of Julian's intimate oils, many of which hang together on the kitchen wall.
After viewers spotted the collection in Ina's Delish post with Jennifer Garner and in the trailer for Happy Hour with Ina, this page was created to bring the paintings together and introduce the daily painting project from which they came.
