Things that are round are turning up in your recent paintings: The face and wheels of the Thomas engine. The green pot and orange. These are images of plentitude. You seem to have in mind the green of spring when there are intense blue skies. In a previous landscape (Feb.21) green was the dominant colour (Feb 21).
I do like your paintings that have a sensuous pot in them and hope that yours, especially the David Garland ones, survived the fire. If not, you will have the pleasure of purchasing some new ones. Or you may receive some as gifts when you return home.
Your signature,Julian, seems to have mysteriously disappeared.Or perhaps is it this kind of "hieroglyph" written in green through the texture of this gorgeous pot next to the main highlight?
Every postcard I receive from Provence is truly an inspiration to me. This green pot and clementine are singing to me (in English!!)
Looking forward to tomorrow's gift from you, Julian.
