Beautiful painting! Happy Birthday!

My birthday is close to yours, on 2/22. We went to the seaside in Santa Cruz here in CA.

Happy Birthday Julian! It must have been delightful to sit outside and have lunch. I love the bushes on the left that contrasts with the intense blue of the sky.

My birthday is right around the corner, March 6th. Happy Birthday, Julian!
(Michelangelo's was also March 6--I had no idea until I saw his tomb in Florence, which I happened to be visiting on my birthday!) You can imagine, it was an 'awesome' moment!
More tomorrow (I now have Ruth's book on the shelf beside me!! So many books, so little time!)
All the best, Sandra

My sincere Birthday Greetings to you Julian - let's hope it's not too long before we all get many more of those sunny days with gorgeous blue skies - be sure to bring them with you if you all make it out here at some point (but of course no need to bring spaghetti for Louis - plenty of that here already!).

Happy Happy Birthday !!!! Julian,
Sounds wonderful, lunch at a restaurant patio!!!
Especially because we had a snow storm here in Ottawa today.! 10cm... ugh.
What a wondrously warm painting...!

Happy Birthday!

It is one thing to be blessed with the talent to paint as you do; it is quite another to share that blessing with others.

Thank you for your generosity. I love my e-mail "gifts" from you.

Hello Julian,
Another nice offering, I particularly like the composition & the contrast between the aquamarine sky & salmon pink walls......Co-icidentally, Friday 24th February was my birthday also....I celebrated by spending time with friends in the evening, at a French restaurant in Battersea High Street called "The Quecumbar" ...a live music venue dedicated to the memory of Django Reinhardt and the music of "The Hot Club of France" of the 1930's & 40's. Well worth a visit ...www.quecumbar.co.uk
Best wishes,
Hilary Dunk, Coulsdon & Aquitaine.

Julian,
You and my husband have the same birthday! Hope you had a wonderful day...I can almost feel and smell the air in the Domaine de Christol painting - so clear and fresh! Really nice painting.
Cheers!

The perfect union between quiet humanity(suggested by these peaceful houses)and tumultuous and overgrown vegetation!Besides the border between them is subtly broken by this lovely bit of green on the sunny ledge to hold this marriage.
That's the whole joyous symbol of Julian's philosophy about Nature on this particular Day.

Happy Birthday, Julian, from Berkeley, California! Looks like you had a lovely day! Best wishes for a glorious year. PS...Louis doesn't like cake?????

Thank you for this lovely painting...I can smell the air.
Our days have been bright and clear; so clear, in fact that we can seen the entire San Francisco Bay and Golden Gate Bridge from Berkeley.

Painter’s notes

Weather turned out nice for my birthday and we managed lunch in the shade on a restaurant terrace, where Louis ate omelette and spaghetti, his two favourite foodstuffs (ignoring cake of course)
