Julian, I am new to your site but it is a wonderful way to see new paintings each day! Keep it up! I am an art teacher and some of my students have been inspired as well!
Thank you!!

Hi Julian: I know what you go through to find
the right fruit or veggie. We have great
selections here but it does take a certain
amount of time to find the right one or pair.
I have finished my cow commission painting
and will get back to finding some more fun things to paint. I'd like to get back to the
water based oils. No snow here yet!

Loving these, Julian. Gob-smacked how they emerge from the turmoil I imagine behind them!

Recent favourite is "Winter Light" with its tendency towards abstraction. For me it has a magical geometry.

You see the beauty in nature - and you know just the right way to present the simple and turn it into a masterpiece. Your love of what you are doing (and what you should be doing in life) shows though in your works.

Painter’s notes

It's can be great fun selecting still life subjects in the vegetable store. With these onions for example, checking for shape, a good stem, an interesting color or color variation and a good shiny skin, I usually select 10-12 onions in similar sizes—fruit and veg is not as uniform here as in supermarkets—in order to feel safe
