Afraid you made a bad choice: Boarder Collies are definitely no breed for beginners! They are work dogs, bred to work with sheep oar even cattle, who need a lot of education and who need to do their job. They are highly intelligent and tend to get neurotic if they don't work. At least do agility or another dog sport with your dog, as soon as it is old enough or it will stay more than a "handful".
