That is a really pretty painting!
Who ever thought onions could be so beautiful? I love the composition,
I HAVEN'T COMMENTED ON ONE OF YOUR PAINTINGS IN A WHILE, BUT THIS ONE JUST INSPIRED ME TO TELL YOU (AND I AGREE ABOUT THE COMPOSITION) THAT THE RELATION OF THOSE GOLDEN, SHINY ONION SKINS AND THE SPIKY STEMS OR LEAVES THAT SHOOT UP JUST SPOKE TO ME OF THE GREAT STATEMENT OF ELI SIEGEL "IN REALITY OPPOSITES ARE; ONE ART SHOWS THIS." CONGRATULATIONS !
this is astoundingly beautiful...I don't want to stop looking at it----the bowl has the coloration of capiz shell or the luminosity of the inside of an oyster shell. The background is a perfect foil for the copper-toned onions. They are radiant. A splendid work masterfully presented. I still feel at a loss for words for expressing how I feel about it.
Almost like ballet dancers.....beautiful.
Julian, I am frequently amused by cold who ask if you teach! I ha even painting for almost fifty years and still learn from you. Today was the subtleties of color in th onions.
Can't even begin to say how wonderful this is. Absolute genius.
Beautiful golden glow, love how you have used the warms and cools in this painting. Would love to revisit in July but don't think that we will make it 2016 - maybe 2017.
Colors is spelt colours. Are you American now?
Really lovely onions! I am saving up to come to one of your courses - it looks and sounds wonderful! From Elizabeth in Bournemouth.
So fresh!
Excellent work, outstanding color!
