Wow. Despite a bit of glare in the photo, this strikes me as extraordinary. It's something to do with the echo of the definition of the form of the vase in the form of the fruit ? different shapes and colors, but linked by the degree of backlighting, the transition of values across the surface and the highlights. Added to that is your customary fluid brush work, mastery of lost edges and subtle color. Just a delight.
My very favorite. I love it
Ohhh! I am in love with this painting and the vase. The way you've captured that is so much better than reality. Thank you for the inspiration.
This is another fine piece of Mastery, Keep it up. I love your still life paintings. They are very exciting and I for one look forward to seeing them. Thank You.
I wish I was getting this for Christmas. I love the rich dark background in this one. You are on a roll, Julian.
Dear Julian, today's touch of chinoiserie is quite stunning. The rich yellow of the quince is pleasingly setting off the blue floral pattern of the vase. Again,a masterpiece!
