Hello Julian, I have a scraper that looks very much like yours but I have never thought to paint it. I am delighted that you did. Beautiful! Wanda
Fab. Reminds me of the Thomas the Tank you painted a couple of times.
I use a palette knife to paint so I can then use it to clean off my palette. ( I use glass also). Just wipe off paint. Lots of paper towels needed for both.
I love using a piece of glass as a palette, but my colors are never left as clean and fresh as yours. My first palette was the side vent glass from an old 1950s taxi which my father thought would be perfect. He didn't know anything about painting but he was right. Thanks for seeing a painting -- once again -- in the ordinary.
I can relate to your painting. I have painted a picture of my paint-covered pliers, and another painting of my tin painting cups.
Dear Julian, this well used scraper has the look of a talisman! Some years ago you painted a wonderful gesso brush, looked at again today, please paint more "tools of the trade"!
An impressive flattening of the air volume before the tool! So we, the beholders, ARE the scraper too: nearly an animistic picture shining of warm light. And I like the talisman dimension noticed by Anna Howard.
