When I look at the yellow quince, I seem to hear Paul McCartney singing: "Blackbird singing in the dead of night..." and the green leave of course looks like a wing so much.
I like it when you repeat objects in your paintings occasionally. They give an intimate feel in the continuation of your painting history. You are laying the groundwork for art historians 100+ years from now! Anyway, I like to imagine things, don't you?
I really like the way you captured the reflections in the tin cup. You make metal, glass, etc. look so realistic yet in a loose way with your free brushstrokes. Nothing ever looks over worked - I sure wish I could get to that level!
Besides admiring your talent, I always enjoy reading Alain's descriptive comments! :)
Dear Julian, two of my favourites together,"Chardin's" coupe d'argent and a quince. Always exciting to study the reflections in the often depicted silver cup. The painting seems to inspire a quiet, calm and contented state of mind.
