“Ruth had bought some peonies for the house which were way too pink to paint, but one bloom lightened up completely as it started to go over—I couldn't resist”

Lovely painting. Pink is a hot color right now so you might reconsider painting another Peony. Love this one!
You don't like pink? This is beautiful!
What a sexy flower! Both overmodest and tenderly provoking! And the earthenware vase, green with envy, and proud as a peacock, keeps a close watch on her. Poor flower, not fully opened (this is not surprising),you have lost a petal of tear!
But why does she love male chauvinist? He is oafish and... cracked!
So,filmy peony, please could you tell us why?
What marvellous glazing on the green pot and depth of colour. Enchanting.
Hi Julian, I'm a cartoonist/illustrator. That green in the pitcher is so beautiful. What is that color? All the best, Keith
Gorgeous!
Pretty Please a Pink Peony???? Tho this was most intriquing and the green vase beautiful. Thanks as always, grace.
Love the sexy pink peony with the green pitcher, awesome painting!
This painting makes my heart sing! Peonies are my favorite flowers, and this one looks beautiful next to the shiny green pot.
Dear Julian, sleeping beauty of the old French fairy tale, faded, peachy pink silk petals, the gold tipped stamens glimpsed, fragility against the hard reflecting glaze of the intense Provencal green pot.I am swooning!
Anna.
Loved this one! Your paintings seem so fresh, unlabored and immediate.
Really enjoy the comments, so artful and poetic. They express what I feel about this one. I am inspired , once again to put together a simple tableau and paint, paint, paint!
