I can't wait to see the painting of the pie this will make. Well done. The diagonal highlight sets it off.

That little glint of light is a touch of magic. On rainy days I think about doing a still life, but that's about as far as I get!

What I'm loving about France are the apples, which are like the ones I remember from childhood; delicious! I really like your little still-life paintings.

What a lovely round apple. Just ready for plucking off your painting and eating. I so look forward to seeing your paintings. Please keep sending them.

Dear Julian, Apple variety: Merrow-Smith's "La Belle Vie", bright red over green, juicy, firm flesh, distinctly nutty flavour. A great keeper. Anna.

I love the warmth of this painting. It just seems to glow for me - love that highlight, and the under painting showing through at the bottom.
