Always brilliant .

I can't wait to see the painting of the pie this will make. Well done. The diagonal highlight sets it off.

That is one helluvanapple!

Best to you and the family

Nice work.

That little glint of light is a touch of magic. On rainy days I think about doing a still life, but that's about as far as I get!

What I'm loving about France are the apples, which are like the ones I remember from childhood; delicious! I really like your little still-life paintings.

What a lovely round apple. Just ready for plucking off your painting and eating.
I so look forward to seeing your paintings. Please keep sending them.

Dear Julian,
Apple variety: Merrow-Smith's "La Belle Vie",
bright red over green, juicy, firm flesh,
distinctly nutty flavour. A great keeper.
Anna.

I love the warmth of this painting. It just seems to glow for me - love that highlight, and the under painting showing through at the bottom.
