“Melons from Cavaillon owe their renown to the 19th-century railroads (and the ease with which they could be transported to Paris). Alexandre Dumas gave an entire set of his novels to the library in Cavaillon in exchange for 12 melons a year, which were dutifully provided by the town until his death in 1870.”

Dear Julian, this Cavaillon melon has weight, texture and wonderful colours. The typical grey green is captured perfectly.
Please,Painter Meister,is there a chance of a painting of said fruit cut open,the colour and the seeds I can imagine would be stunning..... Just a thought.
