This is such a lovely painting, but very wintry. I do hope spring comes soon to Provence, I could do with some vicarious warmth. I am struck by how very dark your shadows are, also really crisp. Somehow my shadows often manage to be neither: just too light and too murky at the same time. I wish I could come on one of your courses. Meanwhile thanks so much for the inspiration and also for letting us zoom in close to the brushstrokes. It is so helpful for learning.
