Julian, reflective surfaces are so difficult to paint. I love this image. It is so beautiful with dark and light and slashes of color and then the darkness of the cup and the brilliant red of the fruit. Very wonderful painting. thank you, georgia

Painter’s notes

I'm not sure I've ever painted david's cup from this angle with it's splash of red/orange in the glaze—seemed to suit the subject/composition this time.
