Julian, Every morning, it is a joy to see one of your lovely paintings waiting on my computer. I've been following your blog for a few years, thanks to a good friend and fellow painter in West Virginia. We share the same sensibilities when it comes to painting...and he knew I would love your work. I'm a painter, living in Austin, Texas. Next year I plan to be in Aix-en-Provence for a month on a cultural immersion tour with the Flying Longhorns, a travel division of the University of Texas Ex Students' Assoc. We will be staying in an inn in town. Our "study" includes French language classes, and several other choices, including cooking, painting, and history. I guess you could call it "continuing education" for us "elder" grads. We'll have some free time. I hope enough time that I can go to Le Cannet to see where Bonnard painted...definitely on my "bucket list". I'd also really like to meet you and your family, and visit your studio. Is this a possibility? Your work is so well known, you probably get thousands of such requests. If so, I do apologize. M.J.Kennard

The warm colours are those of summer, but a little green is apparent in the reflection of the outside on the right side of the pot.

Painter’s notes

A little confit pot, ideal for small paintings, that I picked up at the Sunday Brocante at Carpentras
