“This is a painting that has been brewing for a few weeks, a scene on my evening drive home, just down the road from the studio”

Wonderful, atmospheric, mesmeric, beautiful, timeless, fabulous, congratulations, it's superb!
So glad you let it brew. It's dark, warm and wonderful.
This painting embodies all of the above characteristics as well as those of a superb mulled wine! You are too much Julian, words fail to adequately express the genius that falls of your brush these days!!
Mysterious,from another time..just wonderful!
Evening...looks like a whole other genre. So soft. We're having early spring here too, and this painting reflects the poignancy of this time of year.
Hi Julian I just returned from Brooklyn and NYC where spring has certainly arrived. Your recent landscape paintings seem to be a response to the season and its colours. I love them all. Thanks
Wow Julian! Absolutely beautiful and I heartily agree with the previous comments!
I really like the simplicity of this composition. Beautiful harmonious color.
I paint a lot of evening scenes, Julian, and I was happy to see one of yours. Since it was brewing, I assume you used your memory in painting this, which I think can add to the quality and emotion at times.
I particularly liked the early evening sky and the quiet mood.
As Sarah so enthusiastically says: "mesmeric, timeless!"
..a touch or an echo from Corot, nice one
All of the above and MORE!
Love it! Capturing the light at that time of day is remarkable. Oh, for the $ to buy it!
Beautiful!! The colors remind me of Millet's The Angelus. So well done. Thank-you!!

You 'nailed' the light on this one....good job!
