Julian,you show us here,that you are free of any technical restraints;it reminds me of the fluidity,the flow of colors,the brightness of Matisse.The path as a river with plumes of smoke,this shimmering foliage,so lively,the hill,like a gigantic wing of blue feathers,all allow us to commune with you;in joyful mood.
Coming back on your painting of olives and bread you did mention the use of 450 w daylight light for this work.Is this what is needed for this kid of "eclairance rasant"? this seems to be a lot!
I use two 450w fluorescent photography lamps that have a rating of 6000K which is close to daylight, one for the setup and one on the painting and palette. I don't have any other illumination in the room and they are quite soft lamps. I find it best to stick to a fairly limited palette so that you don't get any nasty surprises when you see the picture in daylight as most lamps will have problems with one or other of the colours of the spectrum—of course I prefer daylight but winter can be very dark in the studio
