Wonderful depth of contrast in the low morning sun. I can almost feel that winter chill.
While it's always refreshing to do something new, I am glad that you will regain your house and studio in March. Perhaps after your return from sunny holidays by the sea.
This has truly been an "annus horribilis" for you.
I even feel,in the shade, the moisture of the narrow path, the small ponds, the mud puddles through the shadowed part of the furrows.I dream I'm wearing my gumboots to nonchalantly promenade there and breathe the open air, both cold and sunny...
Julian, it's a testament to your powers of concentration that you are able to create such beauty despite being unsettled (how ever warmly in your friends' home). I'm so sorry you lost (part of?) your home in the fire. Here's to a fresh start in the new year. As ever, I deeply appreciate being able to view your work online. Some day I may be able to afford my own home, and if I can, I will buy one of your paintings to go in it.
Take care.
