“All day the sky was a dark snow promising violet grey. But still when I came to paint, there was the low sun crossing the Rhône valley and coming in through the 'studio' window—I gave up closed all the shutters and got out my two 450 watt daylight light stands and set about painting in controllable unchanging light”

I like it. Hints of a landscape.
As I read your comment today how the angle of light coming through the window and its intensity might determine how a painting is composed.The light on the cheese highlights its creaminess.
The pictorial treatment of the table and the olives shows us how your mind is in a state of ferment when you are painting.By contrast with the relaxing effect you have suggested regarding the blending treatment of the fermented cheese.
