Wow such luxuriant green is a feast for the eyes here in snowbound Ohio!
Very different greens for you from those in the south of France. I'm left to wonder are those expanding ripples in the rice paddy deliberately painted or a happy circumstance of a gesso-textured panel?
I wondered how you got past the restrictions on oil taking oil paints on planes. Did you take a pochade box and refill it when you got there, or buy the whole kit from scratch? Those tropical greens are really sharp after the soft French winter colours we've seen. Have a fantastic trip - and good luck. We look forward to the paintings! Chris

On the site www.artilim.com/artists.aspx if we click on Vallotton,his painting "65"(of 91)has a similar composition and...the same slightly acid green! Superb connections through the ages between two artists!
