Venice in the rain

I love the subdued autumn light and colours. I can almost smell the rain. Nice to see a painting of Venice that wasn't done at 3.30 on a July afternoon.

Looks like the tourists don't like the rain! Drab, wet red earth colours hint of better weathers to come. Enjoy holiday!

Oh, this is too good...

I too arrived in Venice during a torrential rainstorm last late September. So I was not surprised to learn that what you so eloquently captured in your painting was post-rain Venice. Perahaps because of the time of year, many of the back alleys were empty of people - I photographed while there and it was great and plan to go back this coming year (2011) for another art Biennale. Enjoy!
