Captivating uncluttered painting! The gondola, alone, suggests the depth and counteracts the sloping skyline!A subtle and exquisite painting.Musical.
Exquisite is the word.
superb!
Nice one! I might be wrong about this, but I think that just a little way up on the right of San Giorgio is the fabulous Tiepolo church. The last time I was there - aeons ago - there was a café on its left side. Having spent some time with the paintings, it was a delightful surprise to find apparently those very same characters running the business next door. Were they really there for hundreds of years? Are they there still...? Gecko.
love the colour, good greys
Hi Julian What makes this painting so effective is its seeming simplicity and the narrow focus that allows us to see. The November light is artfully rendered with thoughtful brushstrokes. I hope that you are taking some time to enjoy the pleasures of Venice..... the wine, the seafood and so on.
Hi Julian, I, too, loved your colors immediately!!! Lovely! Exquisite as another wrote!! Lifts one up to thank God for His gifts of color, design, creation. Sincerely, Cl-Marie USA
LOVE!
You capture the essence of Venice.Paradise indeed. Less is more; I love the simple style. Meraviglioso!
