Very well done, Julian! Love the dramatic bright spot of yellow/green!
This is a storybook road. Hansel and Gretel are just out of sight, enjoying the beauty but oblivious to the danger.
Beautiful. I love the lights in the shadows on the road and the tree holes. They give it life.
So pretty. So much light. So beautiful.
So pretty. So much light. So beautiful.
Jigsaw puzzle. Each small surface of colour, delineated by the will of the brushstrokes, builds little by little the view, the planes.Cezanne was the undisputed painter of that style.A dash of blue, a dash of green, a dash of violet etc.No really outlines, apart from the orange line of the road in the lower right side. From the fragmented to the coherence of the surface plane.A lesson.
Hi Julian and Ruth - so, from this lovely painting, can I deduce that the weather is better than it was at the weekend? I truly thought that I'd been relocated to Edinburgh! x M
Yes, lovely day yesterday though just for the day: a little dodgy again today — it was raining in Marseille airport this morning when I deposited Ruth for her flight to Rome — though it is trying to be bright here.
Thank you Julian for the painting and thank you Alain for your "lesson." Both contributed to my on-going learning to "see" (understand) light and colour.
