The luxuriousness of a shadow on a late summer's day. A moment to stop and enjoy, before picking back up the pace around the bend to... I shall stop before I wax Alain (if that is your idea of a good time) ;-)
Peter,I have nothing to add to.I really enjoy the word"luxuriousness" which resounds very poetically.Regarding the painting,I like also the subtle movement of the brushstrokes in oblique,"building" the sky and the trees around the bend, which gives life to this peaceful camaïeu of warm colors.Have you also noticed that the indentation of light is in V, laid on its side with its corner getting lost behind the "shadows" in the foreground? And also...Sorry,Peter,but my phone is ringing.
Ah, I think I see what you mean, a great V arrowhead fallen off of an arrow of Artemis... pointing to the most obvious secret (which everyone in the world knows but us)... THIS WAY TO LAS VEGAS!$!$!$ Julian, seated with his back comfortably on the tree... AHHHH the cool... a blade of grass chewed... he ponders the walk home. "I wonder if Ruth brought anything from the market?" He scrambles up to collect his painting things, happy at the idea of Ruth... as well as what she may have conjured.
beautiful!
Beautiful. Roads with tree-cast shadows across them are one of my favorite scenes, both when traveling and as the subject of paintings. The subdued palette has definitely captured the changing light into fall.
September never felt so good. I'm breathing.
