Dazzling lights, sweltering heat
Wonderful border of wheat seeds bubbling
Provocative black wires sharing the sky
Like a grieving chain lightning
Whereas a low-key forked lightning
Seems meandering on the path,
Just in front of us...
Everything here sounds tranquillity
And dormancy.

A sparkling picture with so much apparent in such a small space! The book arrived here in Sydney, Australia today and it is wonderful - beautifully produced, with many familiar paintings and many new ones to admire.

A sweating glass of tart, cool lemonade, an afternoon nap on the day bed angled across the screened-in front porch. A book lays abandoned on the foot of the bed, the black and white cat curled up beside it. Still, peaceful, restoring.
