I'm going to Provence for a week soon to paint and if this is typical of light, colours and scenery I'm so looking forward to being there. A painting full of the essence of a place - I really like it.
You really capture summer. Beautifully simple.
Jean De Fleurette must surely lived in such an old farm. It has all the "parfums" of summer.

Hi Julian, love this one, I'd mlike to go there now just for a couple of weeks break! looks really peaceful, love the colours. By the way how does one post one of your paintings to their profile on facebook" moi, I'm thinking of" The weather here is cloud rain and cold, hope things are are well with you and by the looks of it the sun is out where you are right now , lucky bugger. Kind regards Ruth
As beautiful as "Little house on the prairie"! - Laaaa la laaa la lala lalalaaaa..." My wide-eyed salad days...
How odd. This painting, so beautifully rendered, left me with a sense of melancholy, not peace.
I used to live in Chamonix, and have spent two winters in the Provence village of Volx (near Manosque). Your fantastic paintings bring back many happy memories.
How do you paint so loose and unlabored, with such a small size canvas?
