This trip to Venice with your gorgeous painting journal has been a little break each day from a family fraught Thanksgiving weekend here on Cape Cod. They revived my sanity. Thank you.

Another one that makes me want to be there. Hope your stay in Venice hasn't been affected by the "aqua alta".

Your painting, Julian, reminds me of "the view of Delft" by Vermeer: same brightness of lights on walls, and in mirror image, marine vastness here, vastness of the sky there. But what is so poetic in your work is the dancing coral pink gleams through the grey indigo-blue heave compared to the untroubled and softened patch of lavender blue sky.
