Beautiful dusky work on the skin. Hard to achieve. What greens are you using, Julian?
Thanks Victoria, my palette remains pretty constant though with slightly nuanced changes over the different seasons, for this I used: Bright green lake, coeruleum blue, alizaron crimson, all from Micheal Harding. Permanent (pthalo) green, cadmium yellow deep, raw umber green shade from Rembrandt. ultramarine, burnt sienna, titanium white from W&N. coraal orange and yellow ochre from Old Holland I think that's all - 11 colors including white. Most of the plum was painted with the greens mixed with burnt sienna, cad yellow deep, and the orange with an overlay of opaque mixed blues/purples from the alizaron/ultramarine/coeruleum. The Coraal/corail orange is a great mixing orange for green and greys, sennelier and old holland make it not sure who else.
Thanks Julian - generous information and lovely plum...
