Julian, this is really wonderful. I love, love, love the lines in the soil and the texture of it - and that SHADOW!!! Great composition as always. I could stare at this for hours...
This painting shows us the recollection of a happy blessed season. Wounded cleft field, symbolized by this gloomy shadow and by the vertical red furrows looking like stigmatas ... devastation, flatness, nobody is there to comfort the naked land, just the artist as eye-witness in order that we'll never forget... The green meadow in the background, so green, so rich, so lively. A sunny day. Nostalgia.
Another wonderful landscape! It is just such a wonder to open this site each day to another beautiful work. I just can't resist gushing over your paintings(landscapes being my love.) Do you ever get tired of the compliments?
No Dona, gives me great pleasure to know that I'm giving others pleasure, I just try not to let it go to my head!
