Three Clementines

I love the way the skins look--the painting makes me feel myself peeling the fruit, knowing just how the peel is thin and delicate and there is a little air space between fruit and peel that makes it easy to separate the two.

I've really liked your paintings from the first time I saw them--a year or two ago. I thought they were very good then; it's hard to believe that they could have gotten better and better, as they have--just a lot more intensity in every way.

Julian, how did you chose the name of your site: shiftinglight? It is perfect for all of your work. I love it!
