A short history of Postcard from Provence or how I became a daily painter...

Postcard from Provence was launched on the 16th February 2005 with a funny little painting of an oyster shell (and a fanfare of cellos). The blog format was inspired by Duane Keiser's "A Painting a Day" and enabled by our local département's plan to make high speed broadband available to all—even a British painter in his remote tumbledown farmhouse in the wilds of Provence! Since that cold winter of 2005 I have painted almost every day. I have travelled to Italy, Spain, and Bali with my pochade box (a studio in a cigar box) and posted some2410paintings. You can view the paintings in the archives by subject or date, you can also subscribe to receive new paintings by email. Paintings are now sold by auction and some of the daily paintings are available as giclee prints. There is also a book. I do hope you enjoy browsing the paintings, there is more information and press cuttings on the about page and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me
