I love your red pears. Hope to get some of my own one of these days. Also, I feel your pain about the fruit flies. At the moment I have some constantly after my fresh peaches and a crate of deliciously-scented McIntosh apples I need to eat before they do. But speaking of grapes, I've set out small portions of wine in jam jars as traps for them. Seems to be helping. Perhaps something to consider for your studio.
I seemed to be getting fruit flies every time I bought bananas and read somewhere to put an inch or so apple cider vinegar in a cup or glass and put clear stretch wrap over the top and poke a few holes in it, maybe 5 or 8 and they will get in and won't find their way out. It works very well.
Your pears are exquisite — I must have something for pears, as I have three pear “studies†already! Truly, I wait with great anticipation for each new work that you bring to auction —indeed, they make my day!!! As for the fruit flies, I have yet to find an infallible solution . . .though we do keep a lot of vinegar on hand!
