You’re kind of like the birds that return in spring and build nests and do what they’re meant to do. It’s just nature at work. The normal way things should be. It makes one feel that all is still right with the world.

Julian, how you have embraced so many elements of painting techniques in such a small piece of work is astonishing. Yet another wonderful painting. They are never photographic, but have painterly detail of which I love to see.

This one is wonderful--so dark and so bright and colorful--and cherries too! Luckily I've already had my coffee, or I'd have to borrow that cup and fill it with cafe au lait!
