Oh, I just love this!!!! What a wonderful composition - that shiny knife handle pulling you in, the perfectly painted brick ledge, the bread and jam jar!

You are SO talented!!

This, to me, is an exciting piece and yet it's so simple and if someone asked me: "well, what's the scene?" and I replied: "a jam jar, a piece of bread and a knife handle", they'd think I was a bit nuts. lol! :)

Bon Maman Rhubarbe is the BEST! When I go to France, I return with at least 4 jars since it seems to be completely unheard of in the US. Your painting might not be Rhubarbe, but it captures the delight of their jams!

Lovely self-portrait! (love the effortless detail in the knife!) Such skill in remaining spontaneous whilst maintaining a demanding range of tone. I love the shadow areas.
