“After two very successful autumn plein air workshops (the weather was kind and the 'students', marvelous) we have escaped to Venice. This is my third painting of the day. The other two were not fit for consumption. I think I suffered from the change of subject matter and it wasn't till I sought out some green that I finally produced something I was willing to share! Apologies for the quality of the photo, it was taken with an iphone on the spot (darkness was falling).”

Venice!!!! I love all your work, but - Venice!!!!
No superfluous details but "only" richness of hues (vermillion roofs are divine) and sophisticated palette of tones. A brilliant tour de force and refreshing restart for the eyes!
I really like this painting! Love the bold lines of the wall and the brush strokes. I like how you have the roof tops eking from the trees.
