Julian, I can taste the juices from biting into it! Jessie
I quite like it -,the blue background!
Beautiful blue!
Hi Julian, Your fruit are exquisit and so beautifully painted! I would love to come and do a course with you. Mum and I have just started a "sketch a day" on facebook . My 15 year old son set us up at the beginning of the summer and, boy, does it make you work harder! We are now up to a mere 46 but we will still go on. It is really useful as you have to find a subject every day and it is good to learn that they are all around you and every where you look .... Please feel free to become a friend on face book with us and we can all see what we are doing! Always look forward to my daily painting, such a treat amoungst all the "crap"! Kind regards Amelia Schaebbicke ( Rosemary Gow, my mother)
Dear Julian, I like your "no sweat" attitude, the blue board "coming in handy"! Often when I look at a contemporary still life there is an over elaborate arrangement, with linen napkins draped just so and lots of props jostling for space. Even now a still life is often a "brag painting"! And how soulless mere technical proficiency! This little painting is refreshing, vivid and spirited. Anna.
Julian, Can't miss with those beautiful complementary colors. Your blue board is great! I was so excited to hear that you are doing workshops. One of these days... Thank you so much, or merci beaucoup, for sharing your paintings!
Love the blue. a real slap in the eye.
Beautiful. Thank you, Julian.
Hi Julian, Just when I was thinking how wonderfully your still life sings out From your dark backgrounds, you go and Confuse me with your bright blue behind the Delicious peach. Go figure!!!!! LOL Helen B
At first finding it distracting, I now think the dark spot on the wall to the left of the peach is very necessary in making this painting more interesting. The beautiful blue is further enhanced by the marks on it, too. The color of the peach next to this blue wall is very pleasing and satisfies the eye.
Exactly my thoughts on still life paintings! Thank you for expressing it so perfectly.
Thank you, DonaS, pleased to be sharing your thoughts on painting! Anna.
Hi Julian , just found your painting , away with my wife she is having her turn with "the doctors" now. Have to say I'm a big fan of the blue , and I love your still life talent and expertise!!! Thanks, Craig
