JULIAN. abandon the website...stay close to the canvas and palette. As always, a beautiful immage. Love the golden tones and dark shadows very lush lighting. Go outside, plein air better for artists than stuffy computer offices. cheers, hello to family. geo
Handsome as always, Julian.
I visualize another painting, a variation on this theme:
It features just the quince and its leaf, placed in the right of the canvas as it is.
You so deftly paint a powerfully mysterious black empty. I think that you should use that gift to the dramatic effect of which it is capable.
In this case you would leave out the cup. Less is more, especially when you replace it with that compelling dark.
Please dare to go there. I think that we all - especially you - will be in thrall to the composition and the mystery of the dark.
Please?
Carol
Aaaah! Yum! Reminds me I must make some quince jelly to have with blue cheese and a glass of red while toasting my toes in front of the fire this Christmas!Your quince are much bigger than mine!
