I am going to be in Provence from Sept. 19 to Sept. 23. Do you have a gallery of your larger paintings in Provence? Do you ever sell larger paintings in Bedoin? I'm the one who is great friend with Sarah Lamb. We'll be staying in her mother's place in Nice before heading up your way. I don't want to bother you, etc. but would love to see your work in person. Isn't it amazing how handsome a lowly onion can be?

Have you seen the pastel of onions by Renoir, which hangs in the Clark Gallery in Williamstown, MA? It is a knock-out, very atypical of Renoir, which is a good thing in my book! I keep a framed postcard of it in my kitchen and have to replace it periodically with a fresh one. I was visiting a fellow painter the other day and saw that she had it, framed, also. So do Google it if you can.

You are so clever, Julian. We know exactly how hard that onion is because you see colour so well and can put the paint exactly where is has to go!
