A gorgeous painting; rich and lush. The organic cherries at our market are still a bit pricey but may splurge anyhow. Thak you, as always, Julian.

An atmosphere as by torchlight,a pictorial experiment of the shadowy light as in a church lit by candles.

Such a treat receiving your daily paintings and this one is a favorite. You certainly are a master painter. My husband and I so admire your work. We notice you use the white towel with the blue strip a lot and it adds so much to the composition. My husband has been searching for such a towel for his still life photography - where did you get it? Thanks.

Painter’s notes

Despite much naysaying, the cherries seem to get better and better—anyway we are spoilt for soft fruit as cherries merge into apricots, apricots into figs, figs into peaches etc.
