“We had figs from the tree over the road in June and now we're waiting on the second crop which is usually due now but seems a little delayed by the cool weather. Meanwhile these were from the market.”

Hardiness against smoothness...Two figs,face to face.Perhaps the right one is a mirror image of the fig on the left.Or an illusion,a mirage...Also,two ways of painting:boldness against classicism,striking antagonism,but miraculously saved by the coherent hardihood of the background which envelops the whole lot.
