I always enjoy your self-portraits, Julian.
GEORGEOUS .... DYNAMITE...
so ethereal....if one can call a man ethereal??? thanks as always. gfs
That's better David. You've got the eyes right this time. Strong work.
Right up there with the best of them!
Your portraits are electrifying! I always stop and take a break from work when your e-mail arrives to check the next surprise.
very nice...still no smiles :)
One of the most dramatic portraits I've seen of yours-- terrific work Julian.
I think your portraits are really good. I love all the different colors in the dabs of paint. I would like to say politely, that your portraits are your shining------shining what? not sure where to do from here. But thank you for sending them.
I like your self-portraits best of all.
You are pure magic......
A MASTERPIECE OF FINE ART !!!! RIGHT UP THERE WITH THE OLD MASTERS AND YET FRESH AND LIVLEY. I LOVE THE WONDERFUL EXPRESSION 'IN YOUR EYES JULIAN. SOFT AND STRONG !!!!!
excellent!
Yes, this is quite your best yet. Well done - love the blue under the eyebrow - the glasses on top of your head, how the hair at your temple actually looks like hair - and the brushstrokes that make up your face are luminescent and reveal your character and attitude at the same time. And the darks - wow. Love it.
Extraordinary work. The most aimazing for me is that those strong expressive brush marks are done on such little format.
Each part is abstract, the whole is figurative. This moving painting will not be forgotten.
Yaaaay Julian - this is GREAT! You can hang on my wall ANY time! xxxM
Nice, Julian.
Shades of Nathaniel Hawthorne. A man who also straddled the light and dark.
Your brush is HOT J. I am inspired by your discipline. I am painting small fall works Keep up the good work. Artfuly, Bob Ragland
