Gorgeous! I can feel and even smell this scene. Did a painting trip to Provence in May 07 and your landscapes always give me flashbacks of the beauty that photos failed to capture.
Everything ( lines, colours, even in the sky...) seems to move towards the big dark tree, being for me the equivalent to a black hole( black whole?) trying to capture the planets and stars all around. I think a book about your fascination, Julian, for that black colour almost everywhere in your works would be so...captivating!
But Alain, we wouldn't want Julian to be made captive (be captured by) a black "whole"! Where would we have his fantabulous colors? The greens and blues and whites in this painting are extraordinary...n'est-ce pas?
Je le savais, Alain. Am always happy to read your poetic language, since I've taught literature all my life. And "having a way with words" is always satisfying, as you well know, Julian and Ruth!
Julian-Hope all is well and look forward to new paintings. I have started a transition from design back to fine art. It's not easy and I look to your site for inspiration? Thanks. regards, Chris
Open-heart.
Julian
We are missing you.
During so many months and years
You have offered us
Beauty and emotions
How many evenings and daytimes
Each of your paintings let us
To reflect and to dream.
Our hearts were beating
In tandem with your brushstrokes.
Julian
We are missing you.
