I LOVE this painting! (I love them all,but..) I have been staring at it in wonder since I opened it up. I don't quite know how it can convey such warmth and chill at the same time. Amazing.
Beautiful depth of color, we have already lost most of our leaves.
Julian, this is lovely. I too live in Provence and the sun was gorgeous today however near Saint Remy we had quite the mistral. It remains a mystery to me how one can paint something so beautiful sustaining 60+ mph winds. You are my hero. Félicité. Gabrielle
Gabrielle, I have painted in mistrals but today was very calm here, almost balmy, I visited my osteopath this morning in Vaison-la-Romaine and noticed alot of wind but here at home under the Ventoux we had no wind.
I like this so direct and full of air. I'm jealous our leaves here in New England are gone already. Now we have a lot of gray.
I just love your paintings especially this one! It's the vibrancy of the colours! Great work
This painting has such a powerful, cut-to-the chase sense of reality with such that I almost cried when I saw it. And just an aside, I don't often cry or even almost cry!
