Morels

Que belles morilles! Did you find them yourself? Our morel season in Indiana has just concluded rather successfully (for me, at least- I love these little fellows!)

The morels delight my eyes and my stomach. I saw some in a local market last Sat. for $58.00 a pound. Quelle horreur! j

Julian, these are so beautifully painted! They took me back to my childhood when my mother, who loved to eat morels fried in butter, used to take me traipsing through the woods in Ohio to search for them. We'd come back with baskets full! She was very happy to find them. We could also find watercress along the creek banks. Amazing.
Anyway, this painting is delectable!

Lesley, you are very funny! I think these morels are beautifully painted, but, after a couple of glasses of port, I can see how one might look at them and see male genitalia. (Although that genitalia has some issues...)
