I used to love (and lust for) your landscapes more than anything. But these still lives of food have been getting better and better and better. I love the monochromatic warmth of these mushrooms, the hint of teal inside one of the caps, the brushstrokes and the lighting. I still love the landscapes but the intensity of the tablescapes have made them my favorites!

I couldn't agree more! Susan Caba said it beautifully -- but for me it was the other way around. I "started" with the still lives -- and I now appreciate BOTH. Merci, Julian, and I see that you got up at 6 am or so to paint these magnificent "girolles"....Incroyable!
