This house basks in the sunlight and it all looks so idyllic. Sensitively captured as always. Another beauty.

Hi Julian, I LOVE poppies, "klaprozen", and especially the loveley way you put them down in your paintings. One month earlier I believe than last year. Do so more ! Marjan

A month earlier than 2005 two weeks earlier than 2006 in a few years they'll be out in March

Julian - the Met office has confirmed that we've just had the warmest April on record - and the month doesn't even finish until Monday! The average temperature in central England from April 1-25 was 11.1 degrees Celsius, 3.4 degrees above the norm and the highest since records began in 1659. See also Scientific American which is commenting on the propsect of another big heat wave in Europe this summer like 2003.

So the Poppies are Klaprozen? I left Netherlands as child but remember I loved Klaprozen then. I could have stood still to hide completely in these. Ahh, long to see them.
