Damn. Makes me want to get up really early and see what things look like round here...
What time was it? 4.30-ish?
It's a real skill to be able to get so much light into a dark painting.
Thank you so much;
I thought it was a kind of quest for the holy grail, the never-ending kind, I mean; well, it happens, at last; and actually this painting reminds me of a walk I had, from Lyon to the the Cotes du rhone region (the southern part) on a quest for some nectar; and the sunrise we enjoyed was really like the one on the painting.
Merci beaucoup, and carry on the good work.

Alas, I have experienced just such a sunrise in Provence. Unfortunately, it was on the way to airport in Nice. I was crying all the way as I did not want to go home and wanted to paint one of these sunrises. Maybe someday.

Yes, I believe it was THE Mhairi Lawson! You never know who might pop up to comment on a ray of Shifting Light, especially when its one so out of the ordinary and beautiful as this.
