Marvelous!
Wow! That's fantastic! Love love the hair!
Hi Julian, I really LOVE this portrait. I have your previous one from last year and use them to study from since I also do portraits. Keep 'em coming! Roberta
Amazing. Some might look at this and say it has been a hard winter...:)
This is so powerful. I love al your work but this one brings to mind the self portrait by Pierre Bonnard..powerful.
Hi Julian, I so look forward to each day's offering here. We live in south Florida, actually it's home for both myself and husband. But we do love to travel, and when you mentioned Bali, reminded me we were just in the Pacific--Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora. Ah, Gaugin's ghost walks about there. Anyway, this portrait is just exquisite!! What happened to your hair?? Ha. Looking forward to tomorrow. (byw, I just received your book, with French stamps, no less. It's my treat for 1 hour with my coffee each morning. Ruth's book should be in my mailbox, any day now. Can't wait to hear her side of the story!! All the best, Sandra
I love this portrait! So much movement! It is very exciting! Thank you, Julian!
Yes, after the adventures of this year, the fire, new baby, new book....time for a trip to Bali...I think I could use the same!
Your 'long winter smile' makes me happy; very electric!
Reminds me of Chardin - soul mate of yours, I believe. Good portrait, Julian.
An explosion of technical freedom, moving sincerity and a deep sense of warm-hearted humanism. The golden background makes of you a forceful iconic representation.Powerful!
Wouldn't mind owning this one! powerful and beautiful! Lola
Julian: Wow! Wild man of Provence! Had no idea what you look like;now I know. Great idea to paint a self-portrait on Valentine's Day. Thank you.
..your hair looks like mine...when I wake up in the morning!
An attention-grabbing dialogue may be valued at comment. I believe that you should write more on this topic, it wont be a taboo topic however usually consumers are not sufficient to speak on such topics. Yet another. Cheers
Your color and composition are wonderful...I enjoy your work very much...I am also a painter and teach a small class ...my students brought your work to my attention and I am very grateful they did! So fresh, simple and honest a real surprise in this day and age of complex intellectual information...also glad for your blog...it is such a good way to share the work...I have one also... we do have some very basic things in common...so thank you, I will stay tuned...kateknappartist.com
