This is a beautiful painting. The fruit looks a little tired, like it wants to lean over or sink in, exactly like some other creatures (including me) might want to do at the end of the week....
When I saw this painting, I had the thought of how fortunate I feel to be receiving your daily paintings. This one seems so down to earth; not glossy, unretouched. No airbrushing! I just had a sigh of relief; it calmed me somehow. I can relate to Lynne about the end of the week! Thank you, Julian.
How do you do it?!! Do you ever run courses/lessons in France?
I always look forward to seeing your still life paintings.
I am really enjoying your still life paintings! And I am so glad that you are feeling better. Had missed seeing your work.
Another knock out Julian! I could stare at this all day! Bravo!!
WOW!
Julian, you haven't eaten that apple yet, and now you have added more bounty - you never run short of ways to paint the spirit of life in your works.
Say... That's not half bad! (nicely done.)
Julian, whoa!!! WHOA! Wow!! Delicious!! Beautiful!!!
Luscious painting. A joyous reminiscence of the "Apple Day"...
My favorite colours, red and yellow; I love how the yellow in the quince picks up the green streaks in the apple.
I like the way you don't feel the need to idealize. Life is just right the way it is.
